Wrongful Death Claim?
I am helping out a family friend who lost her husband in a solo car accident.CHP found driver cause of accident.I found out his Insurance Policy has bodily injury limit of $300,000/500,000
Approx 4 other passengers suffered minor cuts and bruises.Driver has Assets in the range of 500,000-1,000,000.
Family of the deceased would have settled for the BI policy limit of 300k and signed off a release, but to my surprise his attitude towards the loss of this individual has bein pathetic to say the least.Family wants to take Driver to the cleaners.CHP report also states.Investigating officer stated on report,”I recommend a copy of this report to be forwarded to DA,s office for procecution of the Driver for 192(c)(2)pc.Vehicular manslaughterl.
We do not intend to pay a ton of legal fees because this appears to be a slam dunk case.I value this case is worth around $4-$6 million. How can we get a judgement against the driver and put liens on all his assets? Thanks.email me if you wish

You might, if you’re very lucky, get a 300,000 offer from the insurance company without an attorney. Driver probably will not offer any of his personal assets to settle if you don’t have an attorney.
If you have such a good case, any attorney would take the case on a contingent fee basis and front all of the expenses. That means you pay nothing unless he/she recovers money.

Are there any children of the deceased?
Also, if the driver’s insurance limit is $300,000 and the driver might have assets totalling $1 million, where do you think a $3 or $4 million award will be paid from?
The insurance liability is only $300 per injured and $500 per incident so unless you can find money somewhere the other party is hiding, you won’t get paid.
Now, answer my question please.
